Benjamin Dale Prins

"C'mon dad...give me that remote...it's game-time!"

"I just wanted to share the most exciting news in my life. My husband Matthew and I welcomed our first child into this world on October 4, 2005. Benjamin Dale Prins weighed in at 8 lbs. 6 oz. and was 21 1/2" long. He continues to grow and thrive, and we are all happy that he is already sleeping though the night at three months old. I returned to work this week (at Capital One, where I've been since graduation) and am still adjusting to not being with Benji all the time.

I sent an announcement to Edith a month or so ago, so you may have already seen Benjamin's hospital photo. Here are some more recent snapshots."

Alexandar Michael Symanzik

Juergen Symanzik (Ph.D. 1996) and his wife, Natascha wish to share news of the birth of their son, Alexandar Michael Symanzik, who was born on Wed., August 10, 2005, at 1:05am.

Alexandar arrived 2 weeks ahead of schedule and Juergen said, "unfortunately I missed the birth and still was at the Joint Statistical Meetings in Minneapolis that day and only got to St. Louis on Friday.  Natascha and Alex were released from the hospital on Friday evening." Little Alexandar will probably be very curious about these JSM meetings that caused his father to miss his arrival day!

Juergen adds: "PPS: Attending the conference in Minneapolis until the end revealed one interesting web page:

While "Alexander" was the #15 of baby names in 2004 in the US, "Alexandar" does not show up in the top 1000 in any decade - uff ...

And "Michael" is declining - from #1 to #2 now."
