at Iowa State University
by
Richard A. Groeneveld and W. Robert Stephenson
Abstract
This paper discusses the Student Outcomes Assessment Program in the
Department of Statistics at Iowa State University. The program has
focused attention on many aspects of the educational program for the
B.S. degree in Statistics at Iowa State University, with the intention
of improving the undergraduate educational experience of statistics
majors. We review several measures of student outcomes. We also present
results of questionnaires constructed to evaluate the effectiveness of
the program and to obtain information upon which to base changes in
the B.S. statistics curriculum. Our hope is that others might benefit
from our experience and suggest ways to improve upon it.
