The present paper explores the relative magnitudes of the expected waiting times at the ``nodes'' of certain extended machine-repair (EMR) queueing models, for three types of patterns of processing time. For each of the three types of patterns, we formulate a hypothesis concerning an ordering of node positions in terms of which queue waiting time is monotone.
