Guidelines for the ISU statistics department preprint series

1. The preprint should be in the form of a paper to be submitted for publication.
2. No paper can be accepted for the preprint series if it has already "appeared" as a publication (e.g., in a journal or as a book chapter).
3. Preprints must have at least one author affiliated with the Department of Statistics or Statistical Laboratory (faculty member, staff member, or student) at the time the preprint is submitted to the series.
4. Any revision of the manuscript retains the same preprint number.  Authors are  encouraged to submitted revised version of the paper to be placed on-line.
5. After a paper is published, the author should prepare a one-page replacement for the paper (postscript or Word) giving the message "This paper has been published and is now available from... " and give the complete citation for the article. Then this replacement should be submitted to the administrator for a replacement of the paper on the webpage, to comply with copyright law. Put the preprint number in the email subject line.
