Resources
Many of the department resources are maintained for the university community at large. The department provides public computing labs, statistical consulting, and statistical software information and assistance.
During 2008-2010, our building, Snedecor Hall, will be undergoing major remodeling and our department will relocate to Wilson Hall, located at the south edge of campus. The impending rennovation necessitated setting up a new computer laboratory located on the main campus in Carver 205 . This lab has 40 public Windows PCs that contain statistical software packages such as R, SAS, SPSS, and SPlus in addition to the usual campus software. There is a publicly available Ubill printer located in the lab. When classes are not using the lab, it is open to the ISU community. The class schedule for the Carver 205 lab is available here.
Another service which the department provides is statistical consulting for faculty and graduate student research. Information on statistical consulting can be found here .Software resources include a JMP Help room in 0113 Pearson Hall for students who use JMP in their classes. We also have JMP installation help at jmphelp@iastate.edu . Information on accessing/downloading software packages such as GGobi, R-Project, SAS, S-Plus, MikTeX(LaTeX), TeXnicCenter, and X-Win32 can be found here.
