How to Post Past MS and PhD Exams to the Web
How to Post Past MS and PhD Exams to the Web:
Initial Setup Needs to be Done by Computer Support Staff. They need to:
- Create
a User Desktop Shortcut that points to
\protected\PastWrittenExams on our secure web server and name the
shortcut "Past MS PhD Exams"
- ISU NetID needs to be added to the swsstat AFS access group
Then for each exam to be posted to the web, copy/paste .PDF versions of the exams as follows:
- Using
"My Computer" or "My Documents", go to the folder that contains
the PDF file for the exam that you need to post on the web. Highlight
the PDF file and select Edit/Copy.
- Double-click
on the "Past MS PhD Exams" to open up the AFS folder as shown below:
Then double-click on the appropriate folder and select
Edit/Paste. For example if the PDF file is a Masters Theory exam,
double-click on Masters, then on Theory.

- Rename
the file as shown in the directory below so the year is first, followed
by Fall or Spring so it is easy for students to see which exams are
available for viewing.
