Speaker: Dr. Larry Cox, US EPA, Research Triangle Park Title:University-Government Environmetrics Research at the US EPA When: Tuesday, September 30, 11am - noon Where: Durham 171 Abstract: For several decades, the Office of Research and Development, US EPA, has engaged in joint and co-operative research with universities on a range of topics, including environmental statistics. This talk will give examples of past and current research initiatives, including the National Research Center for Statistics and the Environment, a co-operative project between the EPA and the National Institute of Statistical Sciences on modeling ozone concentrations in the Chicago area, and the co-operative agreement between ISU and the EPA. The current program will be briefly outlined and other emerging research problems in environmetrics that may be the focus of joint research by the EPA and universities in the future will also be discussed.
