        ABSTRACT:

All data is collected at a certain time. Often that time is of interest in an
analysis. For example, detection and categorization of network events,
distributed transactions and errors generated by real-time software have a
crucially important time component. Techniques which have been used to
visualize time based data in the past, such as time series and phase space
analysis may not be suitable for these domains. In this paper I will discuss
general techniques for the visualization of time and highlight some application
         areas.
