TITLE:
Resampling Methods for Spatial Data
 

ABSTRACT:

In this talk, we consider bootstrap and subsampling methods for spatial
data on a grid and derive expressions for the optimal block sizes for
estimating the variance of a large class of estimators under the two
methods. Extension and validity of the methods to irregularly spaced
spatial data will also be discussed. The first part of the talk is based on
a joint work with Dan Nordman.
