TITLE: Fuzzy Covariate Modelling An Imperfectly Repaired System

ABSTRACT:

In this research, an extension to Zadeh's (1965) fundamental concept of
membership function of a fuzzy set to that of sample membership function of
a fuzzy set, which is essentially the ideation of Chu (1998) to facilitate
a statistical model allowing the covariate structure with both numerical
records as well as linguistic evaluations of an imperfectly repaired system
is discussed. Furthermore, a semi-statistical development is engaged for
aggregating the fuzzy covariate's impacts on the system with the aid of
logical function and finally leads to the maximum likelihood estimation of
the system parameters and the aggregate parameter of covariates
