Students in all ISU majors must complete a three-credit course in U.S. Diversity and a three-credit course in international perspectives. Check ( www.iastate.edu/~registrar/courses/diversity-list.html and www.iastate.edu/~registrar/courses/ip-list.html for a list of approved courses. Discuss with your advisor how the two courses that you select can be applied to your graduation plan.

LAS majors require a minimum of 120 credit, including a minimum of 45 credits at the 300/400 level. Three of these required 45 300+ level credits must be earned in a general educational group outside the group of the major. You must also complete the LAS foreign language requirement and any high school unmet admission requirements.

The four-year template for the program leading to a B.S. in Statistics assumes that an entering student meets all the University and LAS College admission requirements (4 years of English, 3 years of Mathematics (Algebra I, II, and Geometry), 3 years of Physical/Natural Science, 3 years of Social Science, 2 years of Foreign Language). Additionally, if students need Trigonometry (Math 141 or 142), there is enough leeway in the freshman year to accommodate this.
