Undergraduate ProgramA Minor in StatisticsThe department of Statistics offers a minor in statistics which can be earned by completing an introductory course in statistics plus a selection of additional courses from the set of 341, 342, 361 and 400 level courses. Coursework has to yield a total of at least 15 credits from statistics courses. The minor must include at least 9 credits that are not used to meet any other department, college, or university requirement. Courses taken for a minor may not be taken on a pass-not pass basis. Some examples of minors are given below.
Descriptions of the courses offered by the Department of Statistics can be found in the ISU Catalog or online at Statistics Courses. In choosing courses to fill out your 15 credits, pay close attention to course prerequisites. In order to formally declare a minor in Statistics, you must fill out a Request for Minor form (available from your academic adviser). Before you fill out this form, you should have a good idea of which courses you will use to fulfill the requirements of the minor. If you have questions, or need a signature on the Request for Minor form, please contact:
