Scholarships and Awards Information
The Department of Statistics offers a number of scholarships and other award opportunities to full-time students majoring in Statistics:
George W. Snedecor Undergraduate Statistics Award
This award honors George W. Snedecor, the first director of the Statistics Laboratory and recognizes an undergraduate student majoring in Statistics who has demonstrated superior academic achievement and scholarship. The recipient must be a junior or senior with at least 12 credit hours in statistics, including a minimum of 9 credits at the 300+ level. The recipient must furthermore have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 overall and a minimum statistics GPA of at least 3.5/4.0.

Herta and H.T. David Scholarship
This scholarship is open to all sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate students majoring in statistics, who have documented financial need* and come from a challenging family background, representing a unique situation that might have prevented the recipient from considering a college education at Iowa State University. The student must have, and maintain, a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0 to receive the award.

Schillmoeller Family Scholarships in Statistics.
Edward Schillmoeller, a 1953 mathematics graduate of ISU, and his family established this scholarship fund. Schillmoeller's son Michael and daughter Laura are both ISU Statistics graduates. This scholarship is open to undergraduate statistics majors with an overall GPA of at least 3.2/4.0. Preference is given to those students with a documented financial need*.

Scott Kongable Scholarship
Scott Kongable is a statistics graduate from ISU. This scholarship is open to sophomores and juniors majoring in statistics. The recipient shall have at least 9 credits of statistics classes by the end of the Spring semester with an overall GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 and a statistics GPA of at least 3.25/4.0. Scholarship recipients must take 12 or more credits both semesters of the next academic year. Selection is based on GPA, extra-curricular activities, and an interview.

Undergraduate Scholarship
This scholarship is open to a first or second year student majoring in statistics. The scholarship recognizes early academic potential for freshmen or sophomores in the major of statistics.

Undergraduate Scholarship Sponsored by Procter and Gamble, Inc.
This scholarship is open to sophomores and juniors majoring in statistics. An eligible student must have completed MATH 165, 166 and 265 and have completed at least 8 credits in statistics courses. The scholarship recognizes early academic achievement for sophomores and juniors in the major of statistics.
