Abstract:
We will explore plots that helped to shape the history of statistical graphics by displaying data in new and powerful ways. The plots by John Snow, Florence Nightingale, E.J. Marey, William Playfair and others will be opened for discussion. The focus will be on the significance of these plots within the development of graphical practice as well as significance within the broader lens of history.
