 Administrative Records Use at the US Census Bureau

This talk provides an overview of work at the US Census Bureau’s Center for Administrative Records Research and Applications (CARRA).  We describe the Census Bureau’s procedures with regards to administrative records data collection, record linkage, and provision.  We then highlight new research in the area of administrative records, with a special focus on uses of administrative records in survey improvement and the production of new statistics on the US economy and population.  Finally, we discuss areas of future research for administrative records uses in academic research and program evaluation.
