Title: Balancing vs Modeling Approaches To Weighting In Practice
Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss about two unrelated approaches to weighting in observational studies. Because in practice, in order to reduce the bias due to covariate imbalances in treatment and control groups, we should be careful not only about balancing the covariates but also reducing the dispersion of weights. I will compare and contrast these two weighting approaches to balance the covariates and will discuss which method results in better covariate balance with weights that are minimally dispersed.
