Title: An Unconventional Introduction To Causal Inference
Abstract: This talk will offer a distinctive perspective on causal inference, framing it as a two-step process. The initial step, informally termed 'causal modeling' will be the first focus. In this part, I will give a quick introduction to the problem of identifiability/identification, as well as my research directions. The subsequent step of causal inference involves statistical estimation and inference, leveraging tools from empirical process theory, high-dimensional statistics, and semi-/non-parametric statistics. During this part of the talk, I will present a general strategy for the efficient estimation of various treatment effects, emphasizing key techniques for theoretical analysis. Additionally, I will draw connections between the topics covered and those discussed in previous CIWG meetings.
