Title: Color in Statistical Charts

Last week, we had a wonderful presentation from Prof. Danielle Szafir on the design and optimization of color in statistical charts. Just like at our JSM 2023 panel, I have the unenviable task of following Prof. Szafir. I’ll be working at a lower level of abstraction, talking about some of the stumbling blocks that Prof. Haley Jeppson and I came across while designing a set of color scales for use at Schneider Electric. I’ll also show a collection of Observable notebooks that you can use yourself to design a set of color scales.
