Title: Smoke Particulates Analysis -- Consistency Validation Of Smoke Generation And Functional Data Modeling

Abstract: Cancer and other chronic diseases associated with exposure to fire smoke and contaminated PPE have become long-term health concerns for firefighters. To quantitatively evaluate the PPE contaminant protection and optimize the decontamination approach, a controlled combustion system is developed to study the nature of fireground smoke. This talk will introduce the experiment dataset and present the consistency validation techniques of the lab-based fireground smoke simulation process as well as the functional data modeling for smoke particulate distribution. Future plans will also be discussed.
