Title: Testing for Heterosis in RNA-Sequencing Data With Credible Intervals
Abstract: This talk will go over recent work I've being doing with Prof. Peng Liu on the detection of Mid-Parent Heterosis in RNA-sequencing data without biological replicates. I will discuss the decision-theoretic justification for performing Bayesian hypothesis tests by inverting credible intervals, and then outline the derivation and use of a coverage-matching Jeffreys prior for our parameter of interest. Inverting coverage-matching credible intervals allows us to control the false discovery rate (FDR) through established p-value based techniques such as Benjamini-Hochberg.
