
Scott V. Kongable, an alumnus of Iowa State University with degrees in both statistics and mathematics, was recently honored with the Department of Mathematics Distinguished Alumni Award. The award was presented during the LAS Honors and Awards Ceremony on October 31 and the ISUAA Honors & Awards Ceremony on November 1.
Kongable earned his Bachelor of Science degrees from Iowa State, majoring in statistics through the Department of Statistics and in mathematics through the Department of Mathematics. During his time at Iowa State, he was actively involved in Air Force ROTC and residence hall student government. After serving in the Air Force, he spent a decade in engineering roles at Rockwell-Collins before joining Crystal Group in 1998 as Director of Engineering. He became the company’s president in 2003, leading its growth and earning recognition from the U.S. Department of Defense for supporting employees in the guard and reserve.
