Iowa State to Host 2025 ISU-NISS Conference on AI and Statistics

The Department of Statistics at Iowa State University will host the 2025 ISU-NISS Conference on AI and Statistics from Friday, September 12 through Sunday, September 14 in Ames, Iowa. Co-sponsored by Iowa State University Department of Statistics, the National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) and the Translational Artificial Intelligence Center, this three-day event will bring together researchers from across academia, government, and industry to explore the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and statistical science.

 

The conference will feature invited plenary talks, poster presentations, and opportunities for networking and collaboration. Sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including causal reasoning, online inference, streaming data, sequential decision-making, image and shape analysis, geospatial AI, and the application of AI and machine learning in fields such as forensic science and survey statistics.

 

Events will be held at the Memorial Union and Howe Hall on the Iowa State University campus. The program will also include a moderated conversation with Nate Silver on Friday evening that is free and open to the public.

 

Researchers, students, and professionals are invited to attend and contribute to discussions shaping the future of AI and statistics. Poster abstracts are being accepted through August 15, 2025, with decisions communicated by August 22.

 

Hotel blocks are available at reduced rates, and transportation options include a shuttle from Des Moines International Airport and local conference shuttles between venues and hotels.
