Abby Stanek (rhymes with sonic) (she/hers) joined the Department of Statistics as a communications specialist in November 2025. She has a bachelor's degree in business marketing and master's degree in Agricultural Education, both from Iowa State University. She has worked for different departments within Iowa State University since 2013, most recently as a technical writer for Ames National Laboratory. Over the course of her career, her focus has been on communicating and making science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects more approachable for readers and learners.
In Abby's free time, she enjoys reading, crafting, and traveling. She lives with her husband, first grader, and two dogs south of Fort Dodge.
