Iowa State University Provost Jason Keith visited the Center for Statistics and Applications in Forensic Evidence (CSAFE) on October 6, 2025. During the visit, he learned more about the center's groundbreaking research at the intersection of statistics and forensic science.
CSAFE serves as a rigorous research center committed to applying proven statistical and scientific methods to improve the accuracy of the analysis and interpretation of forensic evidence. The center collaborates with statisticians, scientists, forensic practitioners, and other stakeholders to ensure the fair administration of justice through scientifically valid methods to analyze evidence, relevant databases to support the analyses, and appropriate interpretations of the results of forensic evaluations.
