Statistics Graduate Students Pedal Across Iowa in RAGBRAI 2025

Three of our graduate students, Sebastian McCrimmon, Rebel Yee, and Benjamin Jacobs, took on the challenge of RAGBRAI, the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, held July 19–26, 2025.

The seven-day route stretched more than 400 miles from Orange City to Guttenberg, with daily rides ranging from 38 to 74 miles. Known as the oldest, largest, and longest recreational bicycle touring event in the world, RAGBRAI draws riders from across the nation and abroad. Completing the ride is a test of endurance and spirit.

“One morning I set off before sunrise, and after a few miles the sky lit up in a pink glow,” Yee said. “It was one of the most beautiful parts of the ride.”

We’re proud to celebrate Sebastian, Rebel, and Ben for their accomplishment in finishing this uniquely Iowan tradition.
