The 2026 Regional Electronic Conference on Teaching Statistics (eCOTS) was held on June 18, 2026 in Snedecor Hall. The event, themed "Sparking Joy and Discovery in a World of AI," brought together statistics educators from across Iowa to explore the opportunities and challenges artificial intelligence presents in statistics education.
Participants attended a featured presentation by Adam Loy, breakout discussions on teaching statistical concepts and programming in the age of AI, and collaborative sessions focused on sharing classroom best practices.
Attendees highlighted the value of networking and exchanging ideas with colleagues from Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. 25 people attended the event.
