Vrindha Vegiraju and Abi Garden, both statistics undergraduate students, were part of the second-place winning team at the Data Visualization and Storytelling Case Competition. The event took place on March 4, 2026.
The case competition was sponsored by the Ivy Business Analytics and Digital Strategy Forum and focused on food insecurity, which affects 12% of Iowans and 33% of Iowa State University students. At the case competition, teams analyzed datasets to identify patterns and opportunities and applied data analytics to assess regional variations, demographic differences, and potential interventions. Participants translated their analytical insights into actionable strategies for improving food access.
