Mariah Ogunsola has goals of getting a Ph.D. in psychology and recently added a statistics minor in order elevate her research skills. She is a sophomore psychology major with statistics minor and will graduate in 2028.
Ogunsola added her statistics minor in fall 2025 after realizing how well it connected with her psychology major and future career goals, “The overall enjoyment of doing statistics is what made it click that it's something I want to add as a minor.” She also appreciates the variety of ways statistics can be used and applied.
Beyond coursework, Ogunsola is in the Psychology Club and Statistics Club. She recently started as a research assistant in the Department of Psychology’s Media Research Lab and is researching future internship opportunities. She also is helping with statistics-related events and activities as a statistics ambassador.
When reflecting on her three college semesters and counting, she is proud of how she has grown since her first semester. Her favorite memory is a finals week snowball fight outside of Wilson Hall.
After adding her statistics minor, Ogunsola learned that her great-aunt Mariah, who she is named after, worked in psychology and statistics.
