Dr. Amy Froelich earned the Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in October, 2000 and is currently Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Statistics at Iowa State University. As a specialist in undergraduate statistics education, Dr. Froelich has taught over 3,000 students at Iowa State University over the last 21 years, primarily teaching courses in introductory statistics, probability and mathematical statistics, and categorical data analysis. Her research in statistics education and psychometrics and educational measurement has appeared in several journals, including The American Statistician, the Journal of Statistics Education (now the Journal of Statistics and Data Science Education), Teaching Statistics, and the Journal of Educational Measurement, and she and her colleagues have received research funding from the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Department of Education. She is co-author of the 9th edition of Business Statistics and Analytics in Practice, published in 2019 and available through McGraw Hill. Dr. Froelich has received several teaching and advising awards at Iowa State University and was the 2010 recipient of the Waller Education Award from the American Statistical Association.
