Sepideh Mosaferi Awarded Golden Key Membership

Sepideh Mosaferi, a 3rd year statistics PhD. student, has recently been inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society. The Golden Key is the world’s largest collegiate honor society and membership is by invitation only.

The three signature elements of the Golden Key membership are: Academics, Leadership, and Service.

 

 

Sepideh has achieved a lot of success since joining Iowa State University in the summer of 2017. Some accomplishments include being initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, passing the Ph.D. preliminary exam during her first year, teaching and co-teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, reviewing multiple journals, and writing independent papers. Sepideh is also the first female Ph.D. student from Iran in the statistics department at ISU. 

 

Before studying at Iowa State, Sepideh was a graduate student in statistics at the University of Maryland College Park where she received a Phi Kappa Phi prize and was recognized as an outstanding student by the Washington Statistical Society in Maryland. She received her bachelor’s degree in statistics from the Allameh Tabatabai University in Tehran, Iran.
