The Department of Statistics supports students and educators at many levels. To learn more about opportunities in Statistics Education in our department, please review the following:
Conferences on Teaching Statistics
eCOTS Regional Conference: The Department of Statistics hosts a Regional Conference in conjunction with the electronic Conference On Teaching Statistics (eCOTS) every other year. At this conference college faculty, high school teachers, and graduate students meet and discuss teaching statistics.
AP® Statistics Mock Exam
The AP® Statistics Mock Exam event is held in April to prepare high school students for the AP® Statistics Exam, as well as to provide a professional development opportunity for high school teachers. This is a free opportunity for high school students and teachers.
Licensure Renewal Credit for High School Statistics Teachers
High school statistics teachers who participate in both our AP® Statistics Mock Exam and a conference have the opportunity to earn Licensure Renewal Credit through Heartland AEA. For more information about this opportunity, visit the Licensure Renewal Credit webpage.
