Statistics Education Opportunities
The Department of Statistics supports students and educators at many levels. To learn more about opportunities in Statistics Education in our department, please review the following:
Conferences on Teaching Statistics
USCOTS Conference: The Department of Statistics hosted the 2025 US Conference on Teaching Statistics. This is a national conference that occurs in odd-numbered years. College faculty, high school teachers, and graduate students were all welcomed. The main conference includes two days of plenary sessions, interactive breakout sessions, posters-and-beyond sessions and more. In addition, there are three days of optional workshops, a one day research satellite conference, and a one day symposium designed for faculty at liberal arts colleges.
eCOTS Regional Conference: The Department of Statistics hosts a Regional Conference in conjunction with the electronic Conference On Teaching Statistics (eCOTS) in even-numbered years. At this conference college faculty, high school teachers, and graduate students meet and discuss teaching statistics.
AP® Statistics Mock Exam
The AP® Statistics Mock Exam event is held in April to prepare high school students for the AP® Statistics Exam, as well as to provide a professional development opportunity for high school teachers. This is a free opportunity for high school students and teachers.
